Passed by House and Senate 6/1/22 and DeWine signed it on 6/13/22 . Allows local school boards to decide whether allows teachers and other school personnel can be armed.

Grants legal immunity to people who kill, injure or damage property with a concealed handgun in self-defense or to protect people while at a house of worship or on other property owned by a nonprofit.

New Ordinance in Columbus, Oh. May be struck down as preempted by state law.

Prohibits requiring firearms liability insurance

Except as specifically provided by the United States Constitution, Ohio Constitution, state law, or federal law, a person, without further license, permission, restriction, delay, or process, including by any ordinance, rule, regulation, resolution, practice, or other action or any threat of citation, prosecution, or other legal process, may own, possess, purchase, acquire, transport, store, carry, sell, transfer, manufacture, or keep any firearm, part of a firearm, its components, and its ammunition.

Franklin County Common Pleas Court issued a preliminary injunction on 11/4/22

Reciprocity agreements with other states regarding concealed carry may be negotiated by attorney general. However, concealed carry permits on no longer required, so this may be obsolete.

Criminal records check and incompetency check of concealed carry applicant. Obsolete as of June 2022.

No tort liability for member of firearms industry if someone is injured by a firearm.

Prosecutors have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused didn’t use force in self-defense.

Ohio Supreme Court held that firing warning shots can be considered self-defense.
