Initiative Petition to Control and Regulation Adult Use CannabisA group seeking to legalize marijuana in Ohio gathered enough signatures to put the issue in front of legislators, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose said on 1/28/22. The Ohio Legislature had four months to decide whether to legalize the use and cultivation of small amounts of marijuana. It failed to act, so the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol gathered nearly 133,000 additional valid signatures to put the measure on the Nov. 8, 2022 ballot, where it passed. It allows adults 21 and older to buy and possess 2.5 ounces (71 grams) of marijuana and grow up to six plants per person, 12 plants per household.
