8/26/22 A three-judge panel on the eighth circuit court of appeals ordered a federal judge’s preliminary injunction to stay in place to stop the state from enforcing the 2021 anti-trans law. The law prohibits medical professionals in the state from offering healthcare such as puberty blockers and hormone treatment to trans youth.

State health insurance plans must provide coverage for gender-affirming care in North Carolina and W. Va.

US Supreme Court says that named plaintiff's can still receive gender affirming care as they challenge Idaho's law banning such care. However, everyone else will have to follow the ban until the case is concluded.

ACLU sponsoring suit against Ohio ban on gender affirming care for minors. The ACLU says HB 68 violates four sections of the Ohio Constitution — the single-subject rule, the Health Care provision, the Equal Protection Clause, and the Due Course of Law provision.

4th Cir. held on 8/16/22 that the ADA does not exclude gender dysphoria from its definition of disability.

Sixth Cir. Ct of Appeals allows Tennessee's ban on gender affirming care to take effect.

DeWine bans gender transition surgery for minors under 18.

Prohibits gender affirming care for minors, requires schools, state institutions of higher education, and private colleges to designate separate single-sex teams and sports for each sex.
