4th Cir. Court of Appeals finds that gender dysphoria is covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act

Handicapped workers can be paid less than minimum wage if the employer holds a special certificate.

Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability by federal employers.

Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act1 requires federal government contractors to include an affirmative action provision for the employment and advancement in employment of qualified persons with disabilities.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act provides: “No otherwise qualified individual with a disability … shall, solely by reason of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." Applies in employment and housing contexts. There can be no discrimination in housing provided for the elderly and for disabiliites. Also, no discriminiation in subsidized housing. Also applies to mass transit.
