US Supreme Court ruled 4/24/19 that under the Federal Arbitration Act, an ambiguous agreement cannot provide the necessary contractual basis for concluding that the parties agreed to submit to class arbitration.
EPIC SYSTEMS CORP. v. LEWIS
The US Supreme Court ruled that employers could block employees from banding together as a class to fight legal disputes in employment arbitration agreements. Congress has instructed in the Arbitration Act that arbitration agreements providing for individualized proceedings must be enforced.
