Immigration Law: Executive Orders

Introduction

Presidents often issue Executive Orders dealing with immigration. These orders cannot violate the Constitution. While an Executive Order can have the same effect as a federal law under certain circumstances, Congress can pass a new law to override an Executive Order, subject to a presidential veto. So, Executive Orders are basically on the same level as federal legislation.
