Immigration Law: Withholding of Removal

Introduction

"Withholding of removal" and protection under the United Nations Convention Against Torture are available to migrants who can prove they would likely face persecution or torture if deported to their home countries. Unlike asylum, those protections do not allow recipients to get permanent U.S. residency or protect them from being deported to a third party country.
